Coquette Font Guide: How to Type the Trend
Scroll TikTok for five minutes and youโll see it: soft cursive text wrapped in tiny bows. Thatโs the coquette aesthetic, and unlike most font trends, it isnโt a font at all. Itโs a recipe. Hereโs the whole thing, ready to copy.
What makes text โcoquetteโ
Three ingredients:
- A soft cursive base from Unicodeโs bold script (๐ฌ๐ธ๐บ๐พ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ฎ) or light script (๐ธ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐) alphabet.
- The bow. เญจเญง is the coquette symbol. Itโs actually a pair of characters from the Odia script that happen to look like a ribbon bow. The ๐ emoji is its louder cousin.
- Sparkle filler: dainty punctuation like โห๏ฝกโ, ห เฃช, แฅซแญก and เฑจเง scattered around the words.
Combine them and you get the signature look:

A note on the rarer symbols: แฅซแญก and เฑจเง are borrowed from less-common scripts, and older phones may show them as boxes. The core bow เญจเญง has excellent support. If your audience skews older devices, lean on ๐, since emoji support is universal.
Where the trend came from
Coquette bubbled up from Tumblrโs โdolletteโ corners around 2022, went mainstream on TikTok through 2023 and 2024 (ballet flats, ribbon hauls, Lana del Rey edits), and the text style followed the fashion. It has outlasted the usual trend cycle because the symbols are genuinely pretty and the cursive base never goes out of style. That is also why itโs worth putting in your bio now: it reads โcurrentโ without being tied to one meme.
Coquette vs. its neighbors
- Angelcore keeps the softness but goes celestial: ๐ฅ โ เฃช instead of bows.
- Fairycore shrinks everything: tiny text and stars (โโบโโ แตโฑโฟสธ โโบโโ).
- Dark coquette swaps the script base for gothic blackletter (๐ก๐๐ฏ๐จ) and keeps the bows. Unexpectedly good.
